We are not often taught to think about our thinking and this can leave us in a state of frustration and overwhelm when things get off balance. Together, you will learn how to recognize your disjointed thinking patterns and how to adjust them to create and sustain whole living.
Those struggling with being overly stressed tend to have an off balanced way of seeing challenges in life. They tend to have unhealthy ways of perceiving threats as well as an underestimated view of their ability to cope with said threat. Together, you will learn how to readjust the areas in your life where this is at play, utilizing coping skills tailored to your individual situations leading to sustainable clarity and peace.
There are many factors that have made you who you are. The people who raised you, the way they raised you, the life circumstances you’ve endured and so on and so on. As people age, they tend to forget about their past and “let sleeping dogs lie”, however those dogs never truly stay asleep. Unfortunately, when they wake they tend to cause us trouble if they have not been addressed. You’ll learn how to stop pretending these pesky dogs are still sleeping, assess them for what they are and truly put them to rest.
Your life is unique to you. In individual therapy we explore the areas in your life that are off balance including the sources causing this lopsidedness. Maybe it’s your parenting that’s off balance. You can’t figure out why your kids are behaving the way they are and it causes you a lot of stress & frustration. Maybe it’s your career that’s a tremendous source of stress and you find yourself constantly irritated & snappy. Whatever the area(s) is in your life, in our work together you’ll learn to identify ways to readjust these areas, achieving lifelong balance.
