Wow! You did it! You finally had enough of the uncertainty, fear and just overall feeling of being overwhelmed and stressed and decided to look and see if there is something better. I’m here to tell you that without a doubt there is and you’re on the right journey. I believe that God led you to this post because He has something greater for you.
Because He has something greater for you Satan has set himself against you and it’s rough. You doubt yourself and feel as if things will never, ever change. It just seems impossible. That is the lie of the enemy. ALL things are possible to them that believe (Mark 9:23). Satan only has 1 tool to trick us and that’s lies. He has been lying to you and showing you an image of yourself that is the COMPLETE opposite of who you are. The COMPLETE opposite of who Christ’s death made you to be.
I was just listening to a pastor’s testimony, and he was discussing the great impact Romans 6:6 had on his life. It reads, “For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with.” The last phrase, “done away with” is also translated “rendered powerless”. When we learn who we are in Christ and actually believe and live it we render Satan and his 1 trick/tool powerless.
You have to know who you are and walk in it if you want to exist in a life of freedom. Free of the doubt, shame, and fear that you feel continually.
As a therapist who practices using cognitive behavioral therapy, I believe this starts by examining our thought life. As a Christian, I am assured of this belief for as a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7).
